On 1 May 2024, Companies House, the UK registrar of companies, increased the fee for incorporating a company from £12 to £50.

Several other company filing fees have also changed. Here is a summary of the key fee adjustments:

• Registering a company: £12 to £50
• Registering a company on the same day: £30 to £78
• Filing a confirmation statement: £13 to £34
• Changing a company name: £8 to £20
• Dissolving a company: £8 to £33

As a result, we have had to increase the price of our services that involve Companies House filing fees, including our company formation packages.

Why have Companies House increased their filing fees?

Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, Companies House has been granted additional powers for the investigation, intelligence, and enforcement of anti-money laundering and economic crime prevention. The funds generated from the price increase will support Companies House (and the Insolvency Service) in these efforts.

Overall, these additional powers and the price increase will:

• Enhance the accuracy of the Companies House public register
• Prevent fraudsters from using false information to establish a company
